Injection Molding

Injection Molding

Injection molding is a very economical process to produce strong, low cost parts. The initial upfront tooling can be amortized into part production if desired, and produced either domestically or offshore. Understanding your requirements for the package and or product up front is the key to its success. Modifications and enhancements can be built into the tooling to produce a variety of results.

Product Molding

These pry bar handles are produced by first molding a hard plastic over a metal striking cap in the initial mold. After the initial red core is molded, the parts are foil stamped with part number and brand. The handle is then placed in a secondary mold where the softer durometer black is molded over the red. The contours in the red base mold, provides a location point for the end users thumb, while the black outer shell, provides a more comfortable feel in the palm of their hand. This tool can also be molded with a plastic rounded end, in place of the metal striking cap. This feature was built into the mold at the start of the process providing the customer several handle options within the same tool.

Package Molding

This innovative package combines injection molding and thermoforming, with an easy to assemble insert card. The injection molded base accommodates both buckle style and ratchet style tie downs. The customer can actually ratchet the product and feel the quality built into the mechanism at the point of sale. The thermoforming cover protects the webbing from dirt at presentation and keeps the product looking fresh on display. The header card area provides a large billboard for selling information on the front and back of the package.
